Earlier this week, we’ve shared with you how you can get a free phone when you switch to Cricket and Metro by T-Mobile. However, are these deals only limited to the two mobile operators, or do you get a free phone when you switch to Boost Mobile as well?

Well, honestly, we have three major carriers and over a hundred mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) here in the United States. Under the MVNO brands, we have free government cellphone providers like Assurance Wireless and prepaid service such as Boost mobile. So, competition for the subscribers is pretty intense, just like with other businesses in different industries.

As for Boost, they too do know how to attract an audience, especially if you’re looking for an affordable cell phone service. At only $15, you can get a plan that includes unlimited talk minutes and texting. Then for the devices, you can take advantage of their regular offers to upgrade to the latest selection.

Deals and Offers for New Boost Mobile Subscribers

In truth, Boost Mobile doesn’t have good deals for new subscribers as with Cricket Wireless. In Cricket, we saw you can walk away with a free iPhone and other decent smartphones when you add a line or switch to their service.

Of course, Boost is also part of these companies that give free phones when you switch to their service. But the list of their devices on the $0 promo is shorter than we’d want it to be. In fact, like right now, the network operator has only two smartphone brands on their totally free phone deals, compared to the eight from Cricket.

Regardless, T-Mobile’s MVNO, Metro, has the best free phone when you switch deals, though some require a qualified trade-in.

What’s The Best Free Phone When You Switch To Boost Mobile

As we’ve just mentioned three seconds ago, Boost Mobile has only two free smartphone deals when you Switch now. The two are LG K51 and Samsung Galaxy A12, with the offer only available until the 16th of August.

Nonetheless, Boost Mobile does also have iPhone SE 2020 on this deal, but you’ll have to pay $99.99. Again, that’s not what we’d expect compared to what the rivals have on the table, but it’s still something instead of the regular $399.99.

Speaking of the regular pricing, Boost Mobile has extended its August offers to its entire phone department in case you wanted to upgrade. Some of the options that you might want to check out include:

What You Should Know About Free Phone Deals When You Switch to Boost Mobile

If you have had a chance to check out the “free phone deals” with Cricket and Metro by T-Mobile, you’ll notice they’re not exactly free. In both of the virtual carriers, you need to switch to their network with an existing number from an eligible carrier. You’ll also need to activate your port-in line with a qualified cell phone plan, the unlimited package to be exact.

When we come to the Boost Mobile, the trend is pretty much the same in that you must port in your number to get the free Samsung or LG smartphone. You’ll also need to activate your port-in line on an eligible cell phone plan, which, unfortunately, they’re a little vague on details. So, you’ll have to contact the agents from the participating markets (excluding boostmobile.com) if interested.

It’s worth mentioning that these free-phone-switcher deals (as we call them) limit each customer to only one device. Also, Boost Mobile used to be on Sprint Network before it merged with T-Mobile. Thus, you won’t get the free phone when you switch to Boost with port-ins from Sprint-related carriers.

Here is a summary review of some of the phone deals

1. Samsung Galaxy A12

The Samsung Galaxy A12 is one of the two phones you can consider on the free-phone-switcher deal with Boost Mobile. We could say it’s a lower-end phone, but like many devices from the manufacturer, you can use it in more than calling and texting.

For instance, the Samsung smartphone has a 6.5-inch display that you can stream your favorite shows in vivid HD quality. The installed MediaTek Helio P35 processor is also powerful enough for many Android games and hi-def. 1080p video recording. You can set your games and other apps to save in the 32GB built-in storage or external MicroSD card of up to 256GB.

How to get the free Samsung Galaxy A12

  1. Visit any participating local Boost Mobile store
  2. Port in an existing wireless number from eligible carriers
  3. Activate the line on eligible cell phone plans (as advised)
  4. Receive your free Samsung device

2. LG K51

The LG device is the second option you’ll have when you decide to switch to Boost Mobile with your number. It’s also a lower-end model but can still make a nice handset if you’re not interested in many bells and whistles.

The smartphone has 6.5 inches, which is pretty enough for streaming or gaming lower graphic games on the go. Its triple camera system is also pretty powerful if you need to capture some of your moments to share with friends.

Furthermore, the LG device has multiple latest technologies, not limited to a Fingerprint reader, Bluetooth v5.0, and also NFC sensor for contactless payments.

  1. Visit a participating in-store Boost dealer
  2. Port in a cell phone number from eligible carriers
  3. Activate this line on eligible cell phone plans (as advised)
  4. Receive your free LG K51 smartphone

3. Apple iPhone SE (64GB)

The iPhone SE 64GB is the third and last smartphone Boost Mobile has included in the free phone switcher deals. Of course, they don’t have the device completely free as with the other two above, but you can save up to $300. But again, is the Apple device really worth the $99.99 before you switch?

Well, in our opinion, the device is worth it. For one, this is a remake of the original iPhone SE that came out in 2016 before they discontinued it. The screen is now bigger, front camera more powerful, and the minimum internal storage increased from 32GB to 64GB.

Furthermore, the iPhone SE 2020 has iO3 and A13 bionic instead of the previous iOS 9 and the A9 chipset. So, you can now launch apps faster, play games seamlessly, and do tons of other operations at blazing speed.

How to get the upgraded iPhone SE (64GB) at only $99.99

  1. Visit a participating local Boost dealer
  2. Port in a wireless phone number from eligible carriers
  3. Activate this line on $60/mo. Boost Unlimited Plus plan
  4. Pay $99.99 and receive your iPhone SE (64GB)

4. Apple iPhone 12 Mini (64GB)

First of all, this phone deal (available online) is accessible to both new and existing Boost Mobile customers. However, the provider has limited each customer to only one device, thereafter you purchase at the regular retail price.

Anyway, if you have the four hundred bucks to spare, this phone has most, if not all, you need in a smartphone right now. It’s 5G-capable if you wish to migrate to the new network for ultra-fast downloads and crystal-clear communications.

On top of that, the iPhone has the latest A14 Bionic chip and iOS 14. So, you can now multitask and play high-graphic games without draining the battery charge fast or any chance of lagging.

Furthermore, the Apple iPhone 12 Mini has a powerful dual camera system that you can record up to 4K quality at 24/30/60fps. You could also record 1080p quality at 120/240fps in case you need your videos (particularly objects in motion) smoother or so you can playback at much slower speeds.

5. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is another option you can check out if you want to migrate to the 5G network. It’s one of Samsung’s bestsellers in 2020, thanks to its sleekness, speedy performance, and now the 5G compatibility.

In the performance part, the smartphone has Android 10 and run on a sophisticated Snapdragon 865 chipset. The display also has a 120Hz refresh rate for super-smooth scrolling and ultra-responsive touch.

Moreover, the Samsung S20 FE 5G  has 128GB built-in storage and a dedicated slot for up to 1TB MicroSD card. So, you can now store more files without having to worry about cloud subscriptions or deleting items now and then.

6. Motorola G Stylus 5G

Last but not least is the most recent addition of the Motorola to its Moto series. It’s an update of the original Moto G Stylus that came in 2020 with Android 10 and up to 4G support. The updated version now comes with Android 11 and up to 5G support, thanks to the integrated Snapdragon 480 5G. So, you can enjoy crisp video streams and calls, as well as game on in real-time with little to no lags.

Moreover, the Motorola G Stylus 5G  has an ultra-wide 6.8-inch FHD+ edge-to-edge display instead of the previous 6.4 inches. It also has 128GB internal storage and a built-in slot that you can add up to 1TB MicroSD card,

Note, the online phone deals on Motorola G Stylus 5G, Motorola Moto G Power, Coolpad Legacy Brisa, Samsung Galaxy S10, Samsung Galaxy A5, and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5Gare limited to two devices per customer. If you prefer the Apple selections (iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone XR), you only qualify for one device.

Final Thoughts:

In general, Boost Mobile is a remarkable service provider. It not only has flexible cell phone plans but also reasonable phone deals. You can even get a free phone when you switch to Boost with your current number from an existing carrier. And in case you want to move with your favorite phone brand, you’ll get your discount on the unlimited cell phone plans.

That said, however, Cricket Wireless and Metro by T-Mobile have more selections on their free-phone-switcher deals. So, you can check them out if you feel the Galaxy A12 and LG K51 don’t fit your phone requirements.

Also, don’t forget that you can only get this switching deal in select in-store Boost dealers. The online phone deals that you can purchase at boostmobile.com  are the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. But then, it’s a capped discount you get off the regular retail price.
